UBI launched in 2006 as the first indigenous fully-integrated downstream petroleum company in Ghana and the West African Sub-Region, operating across the value chain of the downstream petroleum operations with each business segment in a different growth cycle; trading, bulk storage, storage tank farms, shipping vessels and fuel service stations dispersed across the country.

The corporation’s milestones include a number of firsts in Ghana.

These firsts include development of essential infrastructure within the Oil and Gas downstream Industry and the first State of the Art storage facility for Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK/Jet Fuel) at Ghana’s International Airport, which fuels most of the air-traffic in Ghana inclusive of Lufthansa and South African Airlines.

Also garnering the title of first in the region is our latest endeavour is a one billion dollar coal plant that will generate over 1000 megawatts of power to Ghana and neighbouring countries.

UBI has delivered tried, true and impeccable 2 and 3D Seismic advisory and support services to the upstream sector, including the Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC). Additionally,  our downstream support successes over the years have attracted global interest and multinational partners.

As a group of companies comprised of team members with great talent and skill, we will maintain our position ahead of the curve and continue to lead the way in energy solutions in undeveloped regions.
